How to Update Linksys Extender Firmware? Just follow the simple steps mentioned below. This will help you update Linksys EPT. If you have already done so, you may proceed by following these steps. It may vary from one EPT modem to another.
Step One:
On the main page of the Extender.linksys.com web-site, there is a link called Firmware Update. Click on this link. You will be asked to sign in to the Linksys forums. Once you have signed in, you will be directed to a page containing the Firmware updates.
Step Two:
On the Firmware Update home page, you will see a link titled Download Linksys EPT. Click on this link. You will be asked to log in to the forum. Once you are logged in, you will find a Google Search Bar at the top of the home page. Click on this search bar and type in the name of the product you are looking for, in this case, you would type in the name of the Linksys EPT modem, then click the search button. should already have an account set up with Linksys, so type in your user ID and password to access your account.
Step Three:
The third step involves updating the Firmware of your Linksys Extender. To do this, you will have to click on the download button next to the Firmware tab. Once you have clicked this download button, you will have to follow the onscreen prompts to extract the downloaded file(s), which you will find are in a folder named the_eframe. Finally, you will have to upload these files to your Linksys EFCube appliance using your WAN/WAN server of choice.
